I am the mother of an 8 year old and a 10 year old! I have been couponing for years! I am not an Extreme Couponer by any means. I try not to buy more than 6 of the same item, unless it is free and it is something my family can stock up on and use or giveaway. I am a teacher which makes me a semi-hoarder by nature, so I try not to have too much of one item. I like to giveaway items I get for free or next to nothing to my students, their families, or to use as prizes in RPLC contests/promotions.
My favorite sports team is the Los Angeles Lakers, of course!! My favorite show is Dexter, although I have cut costs and canceled my cable, I get the DVD's from Netflix!! I also love the color yellow, shoes, shopping, and finding great deals (in case you were interested, lol).
RPLC came about because I noticed that there were dozens upon dozens of couponing sites and couponers from the Mid West and East Coast, but very few in Southern California (from what I could find). I noticed that many of the couponers were getting amazing double and even triple coupon deals but our grocery savings system is set up very differently. The grocery chains in Southern California stopped doubling coupons shortly after the recession hit, although two of the larger chains, Vons and Ralphs both doubled the value of the coupon not exceeding one dollar. For example, if the value of your coupon is .45 they will add .55 to your coupon making your discount 1.00 on that item and currently they don't double coupons at all. I wanted to make sure there was a site that showed how to best utilize your coupons in areas where the savings aren't as great!
RPLC began as a site for Southern California deals, but I tend to scavenge the net for national deals as well, so RPLC branched out into posting deals that I would either use personally, or that interest me, or that I would recommend to my friends and family in addition to keeping with the integrity of the initial idea of finding those Southern Cali deals!
The vision I have for RPLC is that it will be a place where people will find savings, activities for their kids and families, outings for couples looking for something fun to do, a community of idea and coupon sharing, product reviews, and of course coupon links.
